Hard Mode is not "Hardcore."
Yeesh, people, remember the NES days where you had a choice between "Easy," "Normal," and "Hard?" It's like that. Don't overcomplicate it.

Then maybe something like them where you get to craft a custom green. Pick from 3 or 4 skins, and pick your inscriptions and upgrades. Make the item green so that the mods are unsalvagable and maybe even auto-customize the item. Make it so other chars can use it though so you can create a monk item by completing the title with your warrior, for example. Or people can sell them.

Here is my source:
http://gigaom.com/2006/10/26/guild-wars/
Published 26-oct-2006, in it lists the sales numbers at 2.5 million.
Then on 13-dec-2007 GW hit the 3 mill mark, which means in that 6 week time frame they sold 500,000 games. Not all of those will be NF.

A half million is bad, how?
Also note that a lot presents at christmas probably was Nightfall..
Prophecies took close to 5 months to sell 1 million.
So to sell ~500.000 in 1.5 month is bad compared?

Personally... I think GW could stand to get a little harder. It says a lot that if between two people you can beat the game in a week.

And how long did it take each to get to the bargin bin?
Prophecies: about 2 yrs
Factions: about 8 months
Nightfall: about 6 weeks
each game is selling less than the previous, no marketing director likes to see that.

No copies of GW in the bargain bins in Canada either.
That article that Markaedw linked tells of a success story and a threat to the traditional MMO's.
Age, hard mode is available after you have Protecter of Tyria/Cantha/Elona. So, it's just a way to get some more content from missions already in the game. Hopefully with new objectives, and certainly with more difficult mobs.

Just looking at my titles and apperently this new title is for Cantha only as I have Protector for all 3 and it says nothing about guardian in the Tyrian or Elonian tite track. To tell the truth I realy do no want to go back and redo the missions in Cantha again just for a a title.

I had the Guardian reference in uncompleted Canthan title until I got Prot of Cantha tonight - now it's gone.
On my Prot of Tyria, there is no mention of Guardian.
On my uncompleted Prot of Elona, there is the Guardian reference.

The protector tracks have to be incomplete for this message to show for you. Probably something they forgot to remove before it went live so we ended up getting a buggy description before the actual feature was completed. It's for all 3 continents.

Buggy? I think this was intentional, expecting threads like this one and indirectly ask people opinion about this title.

Guys dont worry, its just Anet using another band aid on the much bigger problem. Barely cover anything then expect you to feel better. If Anet truelly wanted to save all the trouble long ago all they would have to have done is up the damn drop rates. Then all these little things would have been great gifts instead of band aids on the big problem.

I'm thinking more on the line of more random monster spawns, more monks in each mob group. mobs utilizing their skills better, mobs with random skills. lvl 60's with quadriple dmg would probably just promote some rediculous farming build.

Surely if you dont want to do a mission in hard mode, you dont do it
Same goes for the title that it may reward, like other titles you dont have to do it.
I personally am looking forward to hard mode missions, it may actually make me want to replay some missions again.
